It was great to see a good number of you at the Golden Gnomes party earlier this month. We were fortunate to be able to host the party at Henry Dickens Court club room which was a perfect size and lovely and warm. The venue was very kindly hired to us for free, so a big thank you. Generous donations from plot holders attending the party were collected and passed on to the club room staff. Thank you for all your contributions!
The Golden Gnomes are a bit of fun and a chance for plot holders to meet up with one another. We had a challenging quiz and guess the ‘feely’ vegetable game. Hot food was provided as we were able to use the club room kitchen and there were plenty of refreshments for all to enjoy. Prizes were given to quiz winners and six Golden Gnomes awarded with certificates and goody bag of hand-made gifts.
Golden Gnome awards were given to the following plots holders:
Philippe Van den Bulck, Russell Road community garden – in recognition of all the hard work you have given in improving the Russell Road garden for everyone
Anita Cheah, Russell Road community garden – for all the time and effort in achieving wonderful results in your first year as a plot holder
Eryl Humphrey Jones, World’s End community garden – for ensuring that all wildlife has a habitat at World’s End
Richard Moore and Peter Cornish, Olympia community garden – for good housing keeping at Olympia and keeping water butts filled
Nadia Nail, Wornington Green community garden – for working hard to invigorate the community growing group at Wornington Green
Andrea and Michael Stewart, Balfour and Burleigh community garden – for lovingly brightening up a busy street corner for all to enjoy
Congratulations to all our winners!
